Director of Transportation

The Director of Transportation will develop and supervise a team of associates who schedule, secure carriers, drivers and owner operators.  Provides internal and external customer service/communication that ensures on-time and safe deliveries; negotiations of rates; ensuring that equipment and drivers are compliant with DOT and company safety regulations; is responsible for decision-making that includes cost control and maximizing utilization of drivers and equipment; identifies, plans, lanes and coordinates the movement of freight, from points of origin to final destinations, on behalf of the Company and our customers. Will have responsibility of all modes of transportation; dry bulk, liquid and rail.

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. MS/MA/MBA a plus

  • Minimum of 7 years’ experience leading a transportation team for a food or beverage company

  • Experience in dry bulk, liquid and rail

  • SAP, Microsoft Suite, SPC

  • Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, laws, and safety standards

  • Proven track record of implementing process improvements and optimizing transportation operations
