Project Engineer

Fantastic opportunity to work for a growing food company with solid people first values!  We need a strong project engineer who can help manage multiple capital projects due to growth. 

  • Develops and implements capital and process improvement projects in support of manufacturing initiatives.

  • Researches, prepares, and presents detailed capital appropriation requests to senior management.

  • Involves appropriate stakeholders at all levels to gain alignment and support from a project’s inception through completion.

  • Manages life cycle of planning a bid process, including developing detailed “scopes of work,” coordinating and leading contractor bid meetings, and developing and executing contractor and supplier contracts

  • Leads, facilitates, and coordinates cross-functional teams through the project process.

  • Communicates throughout the organization on the project from conceptualization through implementation.

  • Proactively identifies problems and initiates project and operational ideas to enhance plant systems and operations.

  • Identifies opportunities and sources new technology and equipment to increase manufacturing productivity.

  • Recommends, coordinates, and may conduct training for technicians and operators on new technology and equipment.

  • Writes clear technical specifications for equipment purchase and installation specifications.

Ideal candidates will have the following:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in engineering or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of 2 years in a technical field in manufacturing

  • Prefer experience with food manufacturing

  • May consider a person with an engineering degree who wants to get into project engineering, but has been working in another functional area of a manufacturing plant
